We don't use your child's data for advertising or to train AI models. Your account works through our identity service, Kyuubi. Your data is processed and stored outside Canada. - Account information — your email (stored as a one-way hash), password (stored as a salted hash), display name, account preferences

- Activity within School Community — community memberships, event participation, game outcomes, prize redemptions, virtual-currency transactions, cash purchases at events
- Content you create — bulletins, replies, comments, profile bio, feedback
- Standard technical data — minimal logs needed to operate the service
3. Use of your personal information
We may use personal information for the following purposes:

Parental consent. By adding a child, you confirm that you are the child's legal parent or guardian and you consent on the child's behalf to our collection and use of their data for the purposes described in this policy.
What we collect about your child. Only their name, grade, and class. We do not collect: date of birth, contact information, address, photo (other than what you optionally upload as an avatar), health information, allergies, or any sensitive special-category data.
What we do not do with children's data. We do not use it for advertising, behavioral profiling, or to train AI/ML models.
5. Cross-border transfers
Your data is processed and stored outside Canada, in the United States. We rely on contractual safeguards to maintain protection comparable to PIPEDA standards. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information outside Canada for these purposes.
6. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy and to meet legal and accounting obligations. When the retention period ends, we delete the data securely.
7. Your rights
You can request access to your personal information, request that inaccurate information be corrected, or close your account at any time by contacting us at privacy@school-community.com. We will respond within 30 days for substantive requests.
If you believe we've handled your information improperly, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

The security of your personal information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
9. Cookies and tracking
We use only the cookies necessary for sign-in and saving your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We do not run ads on the Service.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices change or as required by law. For material changes, we'll notify you by email and via in-app notice at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
